so, lately...

    i've been really just... uninspired. i hold myself to such high standards that when i don't meet my own expectations, i beat the crap out of myself. (mentally, of course.. haha.)

    i look at my pictures and think "eh, somebody else out there has taken one like this. it's nothing special." about every. single. one. i hate it.

    i want to thank everyone who commented on/faved my most recent deviation (Here's a secret confession [link]); it did make me feel a little better about what i thought was a totally bland, worthless shot. haha.

    and i'm still thinking about those lenses, but i'm wondering if it will even be worth it. i don't know what to do anymooore.

    so, photography-wise, i'm not doing too hot.


    BUT. lenardo and i are really doing well. one of my trainers is so excited to see us do the equitation - she says i've got "perfect equitation" and he's just what they're looking for in the eq ring. we jumped 3' in our lesson today and we've got another one tomorrow. he's such a good horse, ughh i love him. he used to have issues with stopping at fences, but he hasn't stopped once in our last two rides. by the end of today's lesson he was exhausted but still going over every fence i took him to. he's fantastical. (:

    we're doing a show in del mar this summer, middle of july i think... may or may not be going to colorado, depending on what goes on with my old trainer. who knows. i really want to go and see her and see the young riders competition.

    hopefully i'll get more motivated to take pictures soon. my poor camera has been collecting dust.

I really enjoy your photos, they are more than the classical "galloping horse." You find something interesting in even those classical gallop shots, a different way to look at things. Go out and shoot really random horsey things, then when you get home see what you have. There is bound to be something in there that no one has shot before.

Good luck with your horse. He sounds wonderful. (I haven't jumped 3' in um... almost ten months....)

aw, that's a bummer. are there any other horses you can ride, like exercise for people, that jump higher?

My big problem is that I go across the country for college. The mare I have been riding at home hadn't been used in 1-2 years, but she can easily jump 3' or higher. (when she is in shape!) So once I get back home and ride her everyday, I'll be jumping higher.... but until then....

Yeah for weird horsey photos!!
